1 Enoque 18

1Vi os tesouros dos ventos e vi que com eles Ele adornou toda a criação e os alicerces da terra;

1I then beheld the receptacles of all the winds, and perceived that in them were the embellishments of the whole creation, and the foundation of the earth.

2e vi também o pilar da terra e os quatro ventos que sustentam a terra e o firmamento;

2I beheld the stone corners of the earth.

3vi como os ventos estendem o véu do céu no alto e como têm seu posto entre o céu e a terra: que são as colunas do céu;

3I also saw the four winds, which sustain the earth, and the firmament of heaven.

4vi os ventos que tornam o céu e conduzem o curso do sol e dos astros em suas estâncias;

4And I saw the winds working in the height of heaven,

5vi os ventos que sustentam as nuvens sobre a terra; vi os caminhos dos anjos; vi nos limites da terra o firmamento no alto.

5Which arise in the midst of heaven and earth, and compose the pillars of heaven.

6Depois fui ao sul e vi um sítio que ardia dia e noite, aonde se encontravam sete montanhas de pedras preciosas, três do lado oriental e três do lado suis.

6I saw the winds which turn the sky, which cause the orb of the sun and all the stars to set, and above the earth, I saw the winds which bear up the clouds. *

7Assim, entre as que estavam no oriente, uma era de pedra multicolorida, uma de pérolas, e a outra de pedras jacinto; e as que estavam no sul eram de pedra vermelha.

7I saw the path of the angels.

8A do meio se elevava até o céu como o trono do Senhor e a parte alta do trono era de safira.

8I perceived at the end of the earth, the expanse of heaven above it; then I went on towards the south,

9E vi um fogo ardente, e além dessas montanhas está uma região onde termina a grande terra, e aí culminam os céus.

9Where burnt both by day and night six mountains formed of glorious stones, three towards the east, and three towards the south.

10Logo foi mostrado um profundo abismo, entre colunas de fogo celeste, e vi nele colunas de fogo que descendiam ao fundo e cuja altura e profundidade eram incomensuráveis.

10Those which were towards the east were of a variegated stone, one of which was like pearl, and another of antimony, and those towards the south were of a red stone, the middle one reached to heaven, like the throne of God, of alabaster, the top of which was of sapphire; I also saw a sparkling fire which was over all the mountains.

11E além deste abismo vi um sítio sobre o qual não se estendia o firmamento, sob o qual não havia tampouco alicerces da terra; sobre o que não havia nem água nem pássaros, mas sim era um lugar deserto e terrível.

11And there I saw a place on the other side of an extended country, where waters were gathered.

12Ali vi sete estrelas parecidas com grandes montanhas, que ardiam, e quando perguntei sobre isto,

12I also saw earthly fountains deep in the fiery columns of heaven.

13O anjo me disse: Este sítio é o final do céu e da terra; chegou a ser a prisão das estrelas e dos poderes do céu.

13And in the columns of heaven I saw fires which descended without number, but not on high, or into the deep, and over these fountains I perceived a place which had neither the expanse of heaven above it, or the solid ground beneath it, neither was the water above it, or aught on the side, but the place was a desert.

14As estrelas que rodam sobre o fogo são as que transgrediram o mandamento do Senhor, do começo de sua ascensão, porque não chegaram ao seu devido tempo;

14And there I saw seven stars like great flaming mountains, and like spirits praying to me.

15e Ele se irritou contra elas e as encadeou até o tempo da consumação de sua culpa, até dez mil anos.

15Then the angel said, This place will be the prison of the stars, and of the hosts of heaven, until the termination of heaven and earth.

16The stars which move over fire, are those who transgressed the commandment of the Lord before their time was come, for they came not in the right time, therefore he was angry with them, and bound until the time of the termination of their crimes in the secret year.
