1E depois de alguns dias meu filho Matusalém tomou mulher para seu filho Lameque, e ela concebeu dele e deu à luz um filho.

1And after some days my son Methuselah took a wife for his son Lamech, and she became pregnant by him and bore a son.

2E o seu corpo era branco como a neve e vermelho como a flor da rosa, e o cabelo da sua cabeça e os seus longos cachos eram brancos como a lã, e os seus olhos eram belos. E, quando abriu os olhos, iluminou toda a casa como o sol, e toda a casa ficou muito resplandecente.

2And his body was white as snow and red as the blooming of a rose, and the hair of his head and his long locks were white as wool, and his eyes beautiful. And when he opened his eyes, he lighted up the whole house like the sun, and the whole house was very bright.

3E logo se levantou nas mãos da parteira, abriu a boca e conversou com o Senhor da justiça.

3And thereupon he arose in the hands of the midwife, opened his mouth, and conversed with the Lord of righteousness.

4E seu pai Lameque teve medo dele e fugiu, e veio a seu pai Matusalém.

4And his father Lamech was afraid of him and fled, and came to his father Methuselah.

5E disse-lhe: Gerei um filho estranho, diferente e dessemelhante do homem, e semelhante aos filhos do Deus do céu; e a sua natureza é diferente, e ele não é como nós, e os seus olhos são como os raios do sol, e o seu semblante é glorioso.

5And he said unto him: ‘I have begotten a strange son, diverse from and unlike man, and resembling the sons of the God of heaven; and his nature is different and he is not like us, and his eyes are as the rays of the sun, and his countenance is glorious.

6E parece-me que ele não nasceu de mim, mas dos anjos; e temo que nos seus dias se faça uma maravilha sobre a terra.

6And it seems to me that he is not sprung from me but from the angels, and I fear that in his days a wonder may be wrought on the earth.

7E agora, meu pai, estou aqui para te pedir e te implorar que vás a Enoque, nosso pai, e aprendas dele a verdade, porque a sua morada é entre os anjos.

7And now, my father, I am here to petition thee and implore thee that thou mayst go to Enoch, our father, and learn from him the truth, for his dwelling-place is amongst the angels.’

8E, quando Matusalém ouviu as palavras de seu filho, veio a mim, aos confins da terra, porque tinha ouvido que eu estava ali; e clamou em alta voz, e ouvi a sua voz, e fui a ele. E lhe disse: Eis-me aqui, meu filho; por que vieste a mim?

8And when Methuselah heard the words of his son, he came to me to the ends of the earth; for he had heard that I was there, and he cried aloud, and I heard his voice and I came to him. And I said unto him: ‘Behold, here am I, my son, wherefore hast thou come to me?’

9E ele respondeu e disse: Por causa de um grande motivo de ansiedade vim a ti, e por causa de uma visão perturbadora me aproximei.

9And he answered and said: ‘Because of a great cause of anxiety have I come to thee, and because of a disturbing vision have I approached.

10E agora, meu pai, ouve-me: a Lameque, meu filho, nasceu um filho, semelhante ao qual não há nenhum, e a sua natureza não é como a natureza do homem, e a cor do seu corpo é mais branca que a neve e mais vermelha que a flor da rosa, e o cabelo da sua cabeça é mais branco que a lã branca, e os seus olhos são como os raios do sol; e abriu os olhos e logo iluminou toda a casa.

10And now, my father, hear me: unto Lamech my son there hath been born a son, the like of whom there is none, and his nature is not like man’s nature, and the colour of his body is whiter than snow and redder than the bloom of a rose, and the hair of his head is whiter than white wool, and his eyes are like the rays of the sun, and he opened his eyes and thereupon lighted up the whole house.

11E levantou-se nas mãos da parteira, e abriu a boca, e bendisse o Senhor do céu.

11And he arose in the hands of the midwife, and opened his mouth and blessed the Lord of heaven.

12E seu pai Lameque teve medo e fugiu para mim, e não creu que ele tivesse nascido dele, mas que era à semelhança dos anjos do céu; e eis que vim a ti para que me dês a conhecer a verdade.

12And his father Lamech became afraid and fled to me, and did not believe that he was sprung from him, but that he was in the likeness of the angels of heaven; and behold I have come to thee that thou mayst make known to me the truth.’

13E eu, Enoque, respondi e lhe disse: O Senhor fará uma coisa nova sobre a terra, e isto eu já vi numa visão, e te faço saber que, na geração de meu pai Jarede, alguns dos anjos do céu transgrediram a palavra do Senhor.

13And I, Enoch, answered and said unto him: ‘The Lord will do a new thing on the earth, and this I have already seen in a vision, and make known to thee that in the generation of my father Jared some of the angels of heaven transgressed the word of the Lord.

14E eis que cometem pecado e transgridem a lei, e se uniram às mulheres e cometem pecado com elas, e se casaram com algumas delas, e geraram filhos delas.

14And behold they commit sin and transgress the law, and have united themselves with women and commit sin with them, and have married some of them, and have begot children by them.

15Sim, virá uma grande destruição sobre toda a terra, e haverá um dilúvio e uma grande destruição por um ano.

15Yea, there shall come a great destruction over the whole earth, and there shall be a deluge and a great destruction for one year.

16E este filho que vos nasceu será deixado sobre a terra, e os seus três filhos serão salvos com ele; quando toda a humanidade que está sobre a terra morrer, ele e os seus filhos serão salvos.

16And this son who has been born unto you shall be left on the earth, and his three children shall be saved with him: when all mankind that are on the earth shall die he and his sons shall be saved.

17E eles produzirão sobre a terra gigantes, não segundo o espírito, mas segundo a carne, e haverá um grande castigo sobre a terra, e a terra será purificada de toda impureza.

17And they shall produce on the earth giants not according to the spirit, but according to the flesh, and there shall be a great punishment on the earth, and the earth shall be cleansed from all impurity.

18E agora faze saber a teu filho Lameque que aquele que nasceu é em verdade seu filho, e chama o seu nome Noé; porque ele vos será deixado, e ele e os seus filhos serão salvos da destruição que virá sobre a terra por causa de todo o pecado e de toda a injustiça que se consumarão sobre a terra nos seus dias.

18And now make known to thy son Lamech that he who has been born is in truth his son, and call his name Noah; for he shall be left to you, and he and his sons shall be saved from the destruction, which shall come upon the earth on account of all the sin and all the unrighteousness, which shall be consummated on the earth in his days.

19E depois disso haverá ainda mais injustiça do que a que primeiro se consumou sobre a terra; porque conheço os mistérios dos santos; porque ele, o Senhor, mos mostrou e me informou, e eu os li nas tábuas celestes.

19And after that there shall be still more unrighteousness than that which was first consummated on the earth; for I know the mysteries of the holy ones; for He, the Lord, has showed me and informed me, and I have read them in the heavenly tablets.
