1 Crônicas 17

1Sucedeu, pois, que, morando Davi já em sua casa, disse ao profeta Natã: Eis que moro em casa de cedro, mas a arca da aliança do SENHOR está debaixo de cortinas.

1Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD {remaineth} under curtains.

2Então Natã disse a Davi: Tudo quanto tens no teu coração faze, porque Deus é contigo.

2Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that {is} in thine heart; for God {is} with thee.

3Mas sucedeu, na mesma noite, que a palavra de Deus veio a Natã, dizendo:

3And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

4Vai, e dize a Davi meu servo: Assim diz o Senhor: Tu não me edificarás uma casa para eu morar;

4Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:

5Porque em casa nenhuma morei, desde o dia em que fiz subir a Israel até ao dia de hoje; mas fui de tenda em tenda, e de tabernáculo em tabernáculo.

5For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from {one} tabernacle {to another}. {have gone: Heb. have been}

6Por todas as partes por onde andei com todo o Israel, porventura falei alguma palavra a algum dos juízes de Israel, a quem ordenei que apascentasse o meu povo, dizendo: Por que não me edificais uma casa de cedro?

6Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars?

7Agora, pois, assim dirás a meu servo Davi: Assim diz o Senhor dos Exércitos: Eu te tirei do curral, de detrás das ovelhas, para que fosses chefe do meu povo Israel.

7Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, {even} from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel: {from following: Heb. from after}

8E estive contigo por toda a parte, por onde foste, e de diante de ti exterminei todos os teus inimigos, e te fiz um nome como o nome dos grandes que estão na terra,

8And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that {are} in the earth.

9E ordenarei um lugar para o meu povo Israel, e o plantarei, para que habite no seu lugar, e nunca mais seja removido de uma para outra parte; e nunca mais os filhos da perversidade o debilitarão como dantes,

9Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,

10E desde os dias em que ordenei juízes sobre o meu povo Israel. Assim abaterei a todos os teus inimigos; também te faço saber que o Senhor te edificará uma casa.

10And since the time that I commanded judges {to be} over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house.

11E há de ser que, quando forem cumpridos os teus dias, para ires a teus pais, suscitarei a tua descendência depois de ti, um dos teus filhos, e estabelecerei o seu reino.

11And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go {to be} with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.

12Este me edificará casa; e eu confirmarei o seu trono para sempre.

12He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever.

13Eu lhe serei por pai, e ele me será por filho; e a minha benignidade não retirarei dele, como a tirei daquele, que foi antes de ti.

13I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took {it} from {him} that was before thee:

14Mas o confirmarei na minha casa e no meu reino para sempre, e o seu trono será firme para sempre.

14But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.

15Conforme todas estas palavras, e conforme toda esta visão, assim falou Natã a Davi.

15According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.

16Então entrou o rei Davi, e ficou perante o Senhor; e disse: Quem sou eu, Senhor Deus? e qual é a minha casa, para que me tenhas trazido até aqui?

16And David the king came and sat before the LORD, and said, Who {am} I, O LORD God, and what {is} mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

17E ainda isto, ó Deus, foi pouco aos teus olhos; pelo que falaste da casa de teu servo para tempos distantes; e trataste-me como a um homem ilustre, ó Senhor Deus.

17And {yet} this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God; for thou hast {also} spoken of thy servant's house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O LORD God.

18Que mais te dirá Davi, acerca da honra feita a teu servo? Porém tu conheces bem a teu servo.

18What can David {speak} more to thee for the honour of thy servant? for thou knowest thy servant.

19Ó Senhor, por amor de teu servo, e segundo o teu coração, fizeste toda esta grandeza, para fazer notória todas estas grandes coisas.

19O LORD, for thy servant's sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making known all {these} great things. {great...: Heb. greatnesses}

20Senhor, ninguém há como tu, e não há Deus fora de ti, segundo tudo quanto ouvimos com os nossos ouvidos.

20O LORD, {there is} none like thee, neither {is there any} God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

21E quem há como o teu povo Israel, única gente na terra, a quem Deus foi resgatar para seu povo, fazendo-te nome com coisas grandes e temerosas, lançando as nações de diante do teu povo, que resgataste do Egito?

21And what one nation in the earth {is} like thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem {to be} his own people, to make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy people, whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?

22E confirmaste o teu povo Israel para ser teu povo para sempre; e tu, Senhor, lhe foste por Deus.

22For thy people Israel didst thou make thine own people for ever; and thou, LORD, becamest their God.

23Agora, pois, Senhor, a palavra que falaste de teu servo, e acerca da sua casa, confirma-a para sempre; e faze como falaste.

23Therefore now, LORD, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as thou hast said.

24Confirme-se e engrandeça-se o teu nome para sempre, e diga-se: O Senhor dos Exércitos é o Deus de Israel, é Deus para Israel; e permaneça firme diante de ti a casa de Davi, teu servo.

24Let it even be established, that thy name may be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts {is} the God of Israel, {even} a God to Israel: and {let} the house of David thy servant {be} established before thee.

25Porque tu, Deus meu, revelaste ao ouvido de teu servo que lhe edificarias casa; pelo que o teu servo achou confiança para orar em tua presença.

25For thou, O my God, hast told thy servant that thou wilt build him an house: therefore thy servant hath found {in his heart} to pray before thee. {hast...: Heb. hast revealed the ear of thy servant}

26Agora, pois, Senhor, tu és o mesmo Deus, e falaste este bem acerca de teu servo.

26And now, LORD, thou art God, and hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:

27Agora, pois, foste servido abençoar a casa de teu servo, para que permaneça para sempre diante de ti: porque tu, Senhor, a abençoaste, e ficará abençoada para sempre.

27Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O LORD, and {it shall be} blessed for ever. {let...: or, it hath pleased thee}
