1 Coríntios 10

1Ora, irmãos, não quero que ignoreis que nossos pais estiveram todos debaixo da nuvem, e todos passaram pelo mar.

1Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

2E todos foram batizados em Moisés, na nuvem e no mar,

2And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

3E todos comeram de uma mesma comida espiritual,

3And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

4E beberam todos de uma mesma bebida espiritual, porque bebiam da pedra espiritual que os seguia; e a pedra era Cristo.

4And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. {followed...: or, went with them}

5Mas Deus não se agradou da maior parte deles, por isso foram prostrados no deserto.

5But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

6E estas coisas foram-nos feitas em figura, para que não cobicemos as coisas más, como eles cobiçaram.

6Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. {our...: Gr. our figures}

7Não vos façais, pois, idólatras, como alguns deles, conforme está escrito: O povo assentou-se a comer e a beber, e levantou-se para folgar.

7Neither be ye idolaters, as {were} some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

8E não nos forniquemos, como alguns deles fizeram; e caíram num dia vinte e três mil.

8Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

9E não tentemos a Cristo, como alguns deles também tentaram, e pereceram pelas serpentes.

9Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

10E não murmureis, como também alguns deles murmuraram, e pereceram pelo destruidor.

10Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

11Ora, tudo isto lhes sobreveio como figuras, e estão escritas para aviso nosso, para quem já são chegados os fins dos séculos.

11Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. {ensamples: or, types}

12Aquele, pois, que cuida estar em pé, olhe não caia.

12Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

13Não veio sobre vós tentação, senão humana; mas fiel é Deus, que não vos deixará tentar acima do que podeis, antes com a tentação dará também o escape, para que a possais suportar.

13There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God {is} faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear {it}. {common...: or, moderate}

14Portanto, meus amados, fugi da idolatria.

14Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

15Falo como a entendidos; julgai vós mesmos o que digo.

15I speak as to wise men; judge ye what I say.

16Porventura o cálice de bênção, que abençoamos, não é a comunhão do sangue de Cristo? O pão que partimos não é porventura a comunhão do corpo de Cristo?

16The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ?

17Porque nós, sendo muitos, somos um só pão e um só corpo, porque todos participamos do mesmo pão.

17For we {being} many are one bread, {and} one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

18Vede a Israel segundo a carne; os que comem os sacrifícios não são porventura participantes do altar?

18Behold Israel after the flesh: are not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?

19Mas que digo? Que o ídolo é alguma coisa? Ou que o sacrificado ao ídolo é alguma coisa?

19What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is offered in sacrifice to idols is any thing?

20Antes digo que as coisas que os gentios sacrificam, as sacrificam aos demônios, e não a Deus. E não quero que sejais participantes com os demônios.

20But I {say}, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils.

21Não podeis beber o cálice do Senhor e o cálice dos demônios; não podeis ser participantes da mesa do Senhor e da mesa dos demônios.

21Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils.

22Ou irritaremos o Senhor? Somos nós mais fortes do que ele?

22Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

23Todas as coisas me são lícitas, mas nem todas as coisas convêm; todas as coisas me são lícitas, mas nem todas as coisas edificam.

23All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not. {expedient: or, profitable}

24Ninguém busque o proveito próprio; antes cada um o que é de outrem.

24Let no man seek his own, but every man another's {wealth}.

25Comei de tudo quanto se vende no açougue, sem perguntar nada, por causa da consciência.

25Whatsoever is sold in the shambles, {that} eat, asking no question for conscience sake:

26Porque a terra é do Senhor e toda a sua plenitude.

26For the earth {is} the Lord's, and the fulness thereof.

27E, se algum dos infiéis vos convidar, e quiserdes ir, comei de tudo o que se puser diante de vós, sem nada perguntar, por causa da consciência.

27If any of them that believe not bid you {to a feast}, and ye be disposed to go; whatsoever is set before you, eat, asking no question for conscience sake.

28Mas, se alguém vos disser: Isto foi sacrificado aos ídolos, não comais, por causa daquele que vos advertiu e por causa da consciência; porque a terra é do Senhor, e toda a sua plenitude.

28But if any man say unto you, This is offered in sacrifice unto idols, eat not for his sake that shewed it, and for conscience sake: for the earth {is} the Lord's, and the fulness thereof:

29Digo, porém, a consciência, não a tua, mas a do outro. Pois por que há de a minha liberdade ser julgada pela consciência de outrem?

29Conscience, I say, not thine own, but of the other: for why is my liberty judged of another {man's} conscience?

30E, se eu com graça participo, por que sou blasfemado naquilo por que dou graças?

30For if I by grace be a partaker, why am I evil spoken of for that for which I give thanks? {grace: or, thanksgiving}

31Portanto, quer comais quer bebais, ou façais outra qualquer coisa, fazei tudo para glória de Deus.

31Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

32Portai-vos de modo que não deis escândalo nem aos judeus, nem aos gregos, nem à igreja de Deus.

32Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles, nor to the church of God: {Gentiles: Gr. Greeks}

33Como também eu em tudo agrado a todos, não buscando o meu próprio proveito, mas o de muitos, para que assim se possam salvar.

33Even as I please all {men} in all {things}, not seeking mine own profit, but the {profit} of many, that they may be saved.
