1E isto não era uma ideia nova, porque de fato bispos e diáconos tinham sido escritos há muito tempo.

1And this was not a new idea, for indeed bishops and deacons had been written about long ago.

2Porque assim diz a escritura em algum lugar: Estabelecerei seus bispos em justiça e seus diáconos em fé.

2For thus says the scripture somewhere: I will establish their bishops in righteousness and their deacons in faith.

3Moisés foi fiel em toda a casa de Deus como servo, para testemunho das coisas que seriam ditas.

3Moses was faithful in all the house of God as a servant, for a testimony of the things that would be said.

4E também os outros profetas o seguiram, dando testemunho junto com ele das leis que ele instituiu.

4And the other prophets also followed him, bearing witness together with him to the laws that he instituted.
