1 Clemente 38

1Portanto, que todo o nosso corpo seja salvo em Cristo Jesus e cada um seja submisso ao seu próximo, conforme sua posição que lhe foi designada pela graça.

1Therefore, let all our body be saved in Christ Jesus and let each one be submissive to his neighbor, according to his position that was assigned to him by grace.

2Que o forte cuide do fraco e o fraco respeite o forte. Que o rico forneça ao pobre, e o pobre agradeça a Deus porque lhe deu alguém pelo qual sua carência foi suprida.

2Let the strong care for the weak and let the weak respect the strong. Let the rich provide for the poor, and let the poor thank God because he gave him someone by whom his need was supplied.

3Que o sábio mostre sua sabedoria não em palavras, mas em boas obras; que o humilde não se teste, mas deixe outro testá-lo.

3Let the wise show his wisdom not in words, but in good works; let the humble not testify to himself, but leave another to testify to him.

4Que o puro na carne não se glorie, sabendo que é outro quem lhe concede sua continência.

4Let the one who is pure in the flesh not boast, knowing that it is another who grants him his continence.
