1Sirvamos, irmãos, com toda diligência ao nosso bom Senhor, como soldados que servem sob ordens.

1Let us serve, brethren, with all diligence our good Lord, as soldiers who serve under orders.

2Consideremos os soldados que servem sob nossos generais, com quanta disciplina, prontidão e submissão cumprem as ordens.

2Let us consider the soldiers who serve under our generals, with what discipline, readiness and submission they fulfill orders.

3Nem todos são prefeitos, nem comandantes de mil, nem de cem, nem de cinquenta, nem assim por diante; mas cada um em sua própria posição cumpre as ordens do rei e dos generais.

3Not all are prefects, nor commanders of a thousand, nor of a hundred, nor of fifty, nor so on; but each one in his own position fulfills the orders of the king and the generals.

4Os grandes não podem existir sem os pequenos, nem os pequenos sem os grandes.

4The great cannot exist without the small, nor the small without the great.
