1A vós foi dada toda glória e engrandecimento, e se cumpriu o que está escrito: Comeu e bebeu, engordou e deu coices.

1To you was given all glory and enlargement, and that which is written was fulfilled: He ate and drank, he grew fat and kicked.

2Disto vêm ciúme e inveja, conflito e sedição, perseguição e desordem, guerra e cativeiro.

2From this come jealousy and envy, strife and sedition, persecution and disorder, war and captivity.

3Assim se levantaram os desonrados contra os honrados, os desacreditados contra os bem acreditados, os tolos contra os prudentes, os jovens contra os mais velhos.

3Thus the dishonored rose up against the honored, the discredited against the well-credited, the foolish against the prudent, the young against the elders.
