1 Clemente 24

1Consideremos, amados, como o Senhor nos mostra continuamente a ressurreição vindoura, da qual fez o Senhor Jesus Cristo as primícias ao ressuscitá-lo dos mortos.

1Let us consider, beloved, how the Lord continually shows us the resurrection to come, of which he made the Lord Jesus Christ the firstfruits by raising him from the dead.

2Vejamos a ressurreição que acontece na estação própria. Dia e noite nos mostram a ressurreição. A noite adormece, o dia levanta-se; o dia parte, a noite vem.

2Let us see the resurrection that happens at the proper season. Day and night show us the resurrection. The night sleeps, the day rises; the day departs, the night comes.

3Tomemos os frutos. Como e de que maneira acontece a semeadura? O semeador sai e lança na terra cada uma das sementes, as quais caindo na terra, secas e nuas, se decompõem.

3Let us take the fruits. How and in what manner does the sowing happen? The sower goes out and casts each of the seeds into the earth, which falling on the earth, dry and naked, decompose.

4E depois, da decomposição, a grandeza da providência do Senhor as ressuscita.
