1Portanto, unamo-nos com aqueles que praticam a piedade em paz, e não com aqueles que apenas desejam paz com hipocrisia.
1Therefore let us join with those who practice piety in peace, and not with those who only desire peace with hypocrisy.
2Porque diz em algum lugar: Este povo me honra com os lábios, mas seu coração está longe de mim.
2For it says somewhere: This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
3E novamente: Com a boca abençoavam, mas com o coração amaldiçoavam.
3And again: With their mouth they blessed, but with their heart they cursed.
4E novamente: Amaram-no com a boca, e com a língua mentiram para ele; mas seu coração não era reto para com ele, nem foram fiéis à sua aliança.
4And again: They loved him with their mouth, and with their tongue they lied to him; but their heart was not right with him, nor were they faithful to his covenant.
