1É justo e santo, irmãos, que obedeçamos a Deus em vez de seguir aqueles que com arrogância e agitação tornaram-se chefes de odiosa rivalidade.
1It is right and holy, brethren, that we obey God rather than follow those who in arrogance and agitation have become leaders of hateful rivalry.
2Porque não sofreremos dano comum, mas grande perigo, se nos entregarmos temerariamente aos desígnios de homens que causaram conflito e sedição para nos alienar do que é certo.
2For we shall suffer not common harm, but great danger, if we rashly deliver ourselves to the designs of men who cause strife and sedition to alienate us from what is right.
3Sejamos bons uns para com os outros segundo a compaixão e bondade daquele que nos criou.
3Let us be good to one another according to the compassion and kindness of him who made us.
4Porque está escrito: Os bons serão habitantes da terra, e os inocentes serão deixados nela; mas os transgressores serão totalmente destruídos dela.
4For it is written: The good shall be inhabitants of the land, and the innocent shall be left in it; but the transgressors shall be utterly destroyed from it.
