1Por sua fé e hospitalidade, Raabe, a prostituta, foi salva.

1By her faith and hospitality, Rahab the harlot was saved.

2Porque quando os espiões foram enviados a Jericó por Josué, filho de Num, o rei daquela terra soube que vieram espiar sua terra.

2Because when the spies were sent to Jericho by Joshua son of Nun, the king of that land knew that they came to spy out his land.

3Ela os recebeu e escondeu sob ramos de linho no telhado de sua casa.

3She received them and hid them under stalks of flax on the roof of her house.

4E quando os mensageiros do rei vieram, ela disse: Sim, os homens vieram a mim, mas partiram ao anoitecer.

4And when the king's messengers came, she said: Yes, the men came to me, but they departed at nightfall.
