1Abraão, chamado amigo, foi encontrado fiel porque se tornou obediente às palavras de Deus.

1Abraham, called friend, was found faithful because he became obedient to the words of God.

2Em obediência ele saiu de sua terra e de seus parentes e da casa de seu pai, para que deixando uma pequena terra, parentes fracos e casa insignificante, herdasse as promessas de Deus.

2In obedience he went out from his land and from his kindred and from his father's house, so that leaving a small land, weak kindred and insignificant house, he might inherit the promises of God.

3Por hospitalidade e piedade, Ló foi salvo de Sodoma, enquanto toda a região ao redor foi julgada com fogo e enxofre.

3By hospitality and piety, Lot was saved from Sodom, while all the region around was judged with fire and brimstone.
