1 Clemente 1

1A Igreja de Deus que peregrina em Roma à Igreja de Deus que peregrina em Corinto, aos chamados e santificados pela vontade de Deus por nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo. Graça e paz vos sejam multiplicadas da parte do Deus Todo-Poderoso por Jesus Cristo.

1The Church of God which sojourns in Rome to the Church of God which sojourns in Corinth, to those who are called and sanctified by the will of God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Grace and peace be multiplied to you from God Almighty through Jesus Christ.

2Por causa das calamidades e adversidades repentinas que aconteceram entre nós, irmãos, reconhecemos que tardamos demais em considerar as controvérsias que surgiram entre vós.

2Because of the sudden and repeated calamities and adversities that have happened among us, brethren, we acknowledge that we have been somewhat slow in giving attention to the controversies that have arisen among you.

3Amados, a má e ímpia sedição, estranha e alheia aos eleitos de Deus, que poucos indivíduos precipitados e presunçosos acenderam a tal grau de loucura que vosso nome venerável e ilustre, digno de ser amado por todos os homens, foi grandemente blasfemado.

3Beloved, the base and impious sedition, strange and alien to the elect of God, which a few rash and presumptuous persons have kindled to such a degree of madness that your venerable and illustrious name, worthy to be loved by all men, has been greatly blasphemed.
